A short session today. The front anti-roll bar subassembly had been put together in a previous session. That was necessary because there was an adhesive drying time on the ball-ends. The bar links the two upper suspension arms together using a steel bar as a spring to transfer some of the exterior cornering load to the interior, levelling the car when cornering.
The task was flagged in the manual as requiring some force, and overall the job was inelegant, requiring holding the axle stands with my legs whilst using both hands on the bar to have any hope of forcing it into location.
That done, the pivots are held with two bolts each, and the rubber boots packed with grease and held with a tie wrap at each end.
The rest of the session was spent digging out parts for the next big job, which is fitting the radiator. I'm glad I did as there's parts in the box that aren't mentioned in the instructions, and lugs on the chassis in all the wrong places. So, I sat down, took lots of photos, and composed an email back to Caterham. But, that's all best explained next time.
